Great Grapes & Happy Hops Group Run...
Come join the Wake Forest Area Runners for our weekly “Great Grapes & Happy Hops” group run at Cellar 275 in The Factory at the corner of South Main & Rogers Road in Wake Forest at 6:00 PM every Thursday.

Fantastic venue, wonderful courses, the best friends, and the post-run wine & ale specials in North Carolia.
Every week we offer both 3 mile and 5 mile courses. All the turns are marked with yellow paint.
We will meet inside The Factory at Cellar 275 (south entrance near Ziggy’s) in the large, dry, and warm foyer. It is dark now when we start our runs so wear reflective clothing or reflective gear.
After the run return inside to the warmth and comfort of Cellar 275 where you will find Gary at the counter ready to pour you a great glass of wine for only $2.00 or a frothy pint of craft ale for only $2.00. And, of course, all your take-home wine purchases are discounted 10% because you are a member of the WFAR!!

WAKE FOREST ROTARY CLUB 5K -- Saturday, May 18, 2013
Special $18 entry fee for WFAR'ians
Last year the Wake Forest Area Runners really supported this well established local race that starts and finishes at The Factory.
This year we have arranged the special rate of $18.00 for registration (the regular fee is $25.00). We will have the special entry forms available at the group runs on Tues., Wed., & Thurs. until race day. The entry form can also be downloaded here.
May 18 (Saturday) Wake Forest – 12th Annual Wake Forest Rotary 5K – 8:30 am – 5,000 meters, 1-mile walk – Contact: Bob McCamy at (919)621-2428 or at rotaryroadrace@gmail.com
Over 140 runners and walkers participated in this event last year with Phil Molloy the win with a time of 19:55. Celeste Keri ran 20:28 in winning the women’s title.
The races start and finishes at the Factory located on at 1839 South Main Street in Wake Forest.
Official times will be taken both for the mile and the 5K. The 5K starts at 8:30 am and the mile begins at 9:30 am.
In the 5K, awards will be presented to the first three males overall, to the first three females overall, and to the first three finishers in each of the following age groups (both sexes): 12-under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60-over. All children who finish the mile fun run will receive medals.
Late entrants can register and pre-registered entrants can pick up their race packets on Friday, May 17 at The Factory from 6-8 pm or on race day beginning at 7 am.
The Factory will have their Factory Family Fun Day starting at 10 am which includes many free activities for the children to enjoy. |
Run! Wake Forest, Run! We are headquarted in Wake Forest and serve runners in the surrounding area including Northeast Raleigh, Youngsville, Rolesville, Franklinton, etc.
Our primary goal is to enhance the local running community. By organizing and hosting group runs we will bring area runners into contact with each other building the camaraderie that is associated with our sport. Our socializing will further develop the knowledge and benefits of running for our members, while sparking an interest in those around us that do not already share in the joy and ecstasy of our enduring footfalls upon the ground.
We encourage the jogger that is just starting out and we cheer the runner that is challenging themselves through participation in road racing or triathlons. Come run with us!!
